SoW (SocialWallet)

Idea: To improve the ease of use for the NEM project.

Sign in with Facebook to create or unlock your wallet, and send XEM to all your Facebook friends that have also created wallets.

The SoW is a light wallet hosted on a web-app. We will focus on a clean and intuitive user interface to ensure ease of use and safety. After setup and log-in, the user can send payments and payment requests using names instead of long and intimidating addresses. Facebook friends with SoW’s will be added automatically. Should the need arise, contacts/friends without Facebook accounts can be added manually.

To further simplify social payments, we aim to create a chatbot that can facilitate payments and payment requests by chat. After setup of your SoW, you can activate the chatbot and access your wallet anywhere you can access Facebook Messenger. To ensure that transactions are made by the wallet owner, a two-step verification process is required.

Facilitating payments with natural language in Messenger ensures easy and quick access to XEM funds. It will also help onboarding, as the Messenger interface is familiar, and easily accessible for most. Finally, by allowing more users to exchange XEM easily we get the added bonus of helping our users achieve higher importance ratings.

In summary, SoW is a tool that lets users quickly and simply set up their NEM wallet and start transacting. By using intuitive methods of payment through interfaces the users already are familiar with, we hope to reach a broad user base. We believe this is crucial for mass adoption of cryptocurrencies in general, and NEM in particular.
